PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Pittsburgh Police say two Tuesday afternoon armed robberies are likely connected.

The first happened around 12:20 p.m. at the Radio Shack on Wharton Street in the South Side Flats.

Police say two black men entered the store and one approached the cash register and took an undisclosed amount of cash.

There were also six victims in the store. The suspects took their cellphones and wallets before leaving the store on foot. They reportedly headed right on 21st Street.

One of the robbers is described as as being 5-feet-11-inches tall and the other is 6-feet-2-inches tall and carrying a black handgun.

Around 1:27 p.m. another armed robbery was reported at the Uni-Mart on Lowrie Street in Troy Hill. There, two suspects also entered the store, one with a gun, and took money from the register.

They also took a pack of cigarettes and left the store on foot, running across Lowrie Street onto Lager Street.

No injuries were reported.

Police say the suspects concealed their faces in both robberies.
