Police, SWAT Team Surround Mt. Washington Home, Take Man Into Custody

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Police and the SWAT team surrounded a home in Mount Washington late Wednesday night after authorities say a man threatened a woman during an argument.

Public Safety officials say a man with a gun barricaded himself inside a house near the corner of the 200-block of Merrimac Street and Virginia Avenue and refused to come out.

He has since been identified as Dayvon Tyrie Pack, 24, of Allentown.

Officials say the incident started as a domestic dispute and Pack grabbed a gun and threatened the female victim.

The victim and other people in the home were able to escape safely.

SWAT officers sent gas canisters into the home, and around 11:15 p.m. Officials at the scene said Pack surrendered and was taken into custody.

Pack is facing a list of charges including, simple assault and terroristic threats.
