Police Seek Van Driver In Alleged Attempted Luring In Homewood

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Police are investigating a possible attempted child luring in the city's Homewood section Tuesday morning.

According to Pittsburgh Police, the incident happened as the child was walking to school around 8:50 a.m. in the 7000-block of Bennett Street.

Investigators say a man driving a van approached the fourth grader. The man asked the boy several questions – including where he was going, if he wanted a ride and where he lived.

The boy was able to run away and immediately went home.

The driver is described as a white male in his 50s. He had a stocky build, a blonde beard and blonde hair. He was wearing a black tee-shirt with white lettering on it.

The vehicle he was driving was a white, older-style conversion van.

Pittsburgh Police are investigating.

Anyone with information on the incident is asked to call 911.
