Suspect In Custody After Bank Robbery In Elizabeth Twp.

ELIZABETH TOWNSHIP (KDKA) -- Police have one suspect in custody following a bank robbery Friday in Elizabeth.

According to police, the First Niagara Bank on McKeesport Road was held-up around 6 p.m.

Investigators say the suspect handed the teller a note and left with a undetermined amount of cash.

He took off and was later arrested near Tillie's Restaurant in McKeesport.

Elizabeth Township Police got a description of the car and passed that information off to the McKeesport Police. They spotted him and arrested him. Police didn't find a weapon.

Authorities also searched the suspect's car, a 1996 white Cadillac Eldorado.

The FBI and the Allegheny County Police are handling the investigation.
