Police Seek Monroeville Wines And Spirits Store Robber
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- It was around 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, less than a half-hour after the Northern Pike Wine and Spirits Store opened, when a man with a bandana covering his face came into the Monroeville location and showed a gun.
Three store employees who were inside told police that the man cocked the gun and then stated that "this is a robbery."
A store employee was then forced at gunpoint to open up the liquor store safe before the man took off with the cash.
It's a similar style robbery to a December Wine and Spirits Robbery. It also took place right after the store opened.
Our news partners at the Post-Gazette report Tuesday's robbery may be connected to the one in Homestead, another in Forest Hills and two others.
No customers were inside the store at the time of Tuesday's robbery and no employees were hurt either.
Police are in the process of reviewing surveillance footage from inside the store.
Employees describe the robber as a thin, African American who's 5 feet 7 inches tall.
