Police Searching For Couple Who Stole Salvation Army Red Kettle

MCDONALD (KDKA)- Police need help tracking down a couple who decided to steal one of the Salvation Army's Red Kettles from a local store.

According to police, the incident happened around 8 p.m. Friday night at TJ's Deli on East Lincoln Avenue in McDonald.

Stanley Gibson was working at the store that night.

"He doesn't even come in all the way," said Gibson. "He just reaches out, takes the pot and takes off running."

Gibson said the couple was in the store a few minutes before the theft took place.

Police have released surveillance pictures of the couple and hope the public will help them identify the suspects.

There is no word on how much money was inside the kettle.

If you have any information, contact the McDonald Borough Police Department at (724)-926-2105.
