Police Search For Suspect Prompts Lockdown At Lawrence Co. Education Center

NEW CASTLE (KDKA) -- Police in New Castle are looking for a suspect previously charged with murder.

They're searching for 33-year-old Ernest Chapman.

Police say he was wanted for leading police on a chase about two weeks ago, but he got away.

Officers chased him again Thursday, but he crashed into a tree, and then ran into some woods behind the Lockley Early Learning Center.

The incident prompted a lockdown at the education center.

Police say Chapman is from Detroit, but has been staying in New Castle.

If you've seen him, you are urged to call police.
