Police: Robber Threatened To Blow Up Washington County Bank

BURGETTSTOWN, Pa. (AP) - Authorities are trying to find a nervous robber who threatened to blow up a bank in Washington County.

The incident happened about 2 p.m. Tuesday at the PNC Bank branch in Burgettstown.

Authorities say the 20-something white man wearing a black hooded Nike sweat shirt handed a teller a note that demanded money and claimed the bank was wired with C4, a kind of plastic explosive.

Police say the robber, who was also wearing gray sweat pants and brown boots, jumped into a blue or teal Saturn sedan and drove away. A blonde woman was seen in the back seat.

Police say they have some leads, but have yet to make an arrest.
