Police Respond To Sexual Assault Report Near Pitt Campus

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Pittsburgh police and University of Pittsburgh police responded to a report of a sexual assault early Saturday morning near the university's campus.

Police were sent to Meyran Avenue at Fresco Way, near Forbes Hall, around 1:10 a.m. The assault allegedly took place around 1 a.m. at a business located at 226 Meyran Avenue.

The female victim told police that an unknown African-American male in his late 20s or early 30s assaulted her. The suspect is described as about 5-feet-9-inches or 5-feet-10-inches tall and heavy set. He was wearing a dark sweatshirt with "Columbia" in white writing and a blue tossle cap with the Rams football team logo at the time of the alleged assault.
