Police Recover Loaded AK-47, Drugs In Larimer Investigation

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- An investigation in Larimer by Pittsburgh Violence Prevention & Intelligence (VPI) officers resulted in one arrest and the recovery of an AK-47 assault rifle and drugs, among other items, Saturday morning.

The Pittsburgh Department of Public Safety says that the investigation began after residents expressed concerns about drug dealing in the area.

VPI officers, with assistance from SWAT, discovered suspect Michael Mills-Allen, 28, inside a residence in the 500 block of Paulson Avenue around 6 a.m. Saturday.

At the residence, officers recovered a loaded AK-47 assault rifle, approximately 100 grams of cocaine, 250 stamp bags of heroin, an undisclosed amount of cash and surveillance equipment.

Mills-Allen was charged with felony drug offenses as a person not to possess firearms.
