Police Probe Fatal Shooting In Larimer Neighborhood

LARIMER (KDKA) – Police are investigating after a young man was shot and killed in the city's Larimer neighborhood Tuesday night.

According to police, the incident happened in the 200 block of Shetland Avenue around 10:45 p.m.

Police were called to the area for a report of a male that had been shot. When they arrived, they found 19-year-old Cejay Jones in a vacant lot with multiple gunshot wounds.

Jones was pronounced dead at the scene.

"We still have an active investigation. This is our 59th homicide of the year," Pittsburgh Police Public Information Officer Sonya Toler said.

Police don't have any suspects in the case. They say gunshots were fired in three different locations, as indicated by a ShotSpotter notification.

"ShotSpotter is very accurate so it seems as if the shooter was in three different locations at the time the shots were fired, but in the same general area," Toler said.

Shortly after the shooting, several people gathered near the scene. Police are hopeful someone will share information about what happened.

"We are very hopeful that witnesses will come forward. We're certain that people know something and hopefully they will entrust that information to our investigators so that hopefully we can bring this investigation to a conclusion," Toler said.
