Police: Man Tried To Lure Child Into Van In Mt. Lebanon

MOUNT LEBANON (KDKA) -- Mt. Lebanon Police are warning the community after an attempted child luring on Saturday.

It happened around 1 p.m. at the intersection of St. Clair Drive and Washington Road.

A female child was playing in her yard when a man in a white SUV pulled up and told her he had something for her inside the vehicle.

When asked to come over and get inside, the child ran away from the SUV and into her home. Police say she did so because of training given by officers at her school.

A teen sibling also spotted the white SUV before it pulled out, and was last seen making a right turn onto Washington Road.

The driver of the vehicle is described as a white male in his mid- to late-50s with a receding hair line or partially bald. He was wearing a neon green or yellow colored shirt.

The white SUV had a spare tire mounted on the back. The tire was gray and had yellow markings that resembled a vertical crescent moon.

Anyone with information on the suspect or SUV should immediately call 911 and contact Mt. Lebanon Police.
