Police: Man Shot In Possible Attempted Robbery In Highland Park

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Pittsburgh Police are investigating after a man was shot Monday evening in Highland Park during a possible attempted robbery.

The incident happened around 8:30 p.m. in the 5900-block of Bryant Street.

According to police, three or four men are believed to have approached the victim while he was out walking in the neighborhood.

"We have determined at this point that this may be a possible robbery where the male was walking here on Bryant Street, he was approached by possibly four black males who ran from the scene on foot," said Pittsburgh Public Safety Director Sonya Toler.

Investigators say the victim suffered a gunshot wound to his shoulder.

The 31-year-old man has not been identified. He was taken to UPMC Presbyterian Hospital for treatment where his condition has improved from critical to stable.

Investigators remained on scene late Monday investigating.

"Our officers are here still investigating to determine actually all the details that happened," Toler said.

Police are looking for suspects.
