Missing Fayette Co. Teen With Autism Found Safely

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) –A missing teenager from Fayette County was found safely after he was reported missing Friday.

Michael Bassinger Jr., 17, was reported missing by his father around 5 p.m. Friday.

Bassinger is from Smithfield Borough and has autism, which leaves him with the mental capacity of a 5-year-old child.

He is 5 feet 10 inches tall, about 300 pounds, has brown hair which is shaved and blue eyes.

He was last seen wearing a gray t-shirt with "In Loving Memory of Patty Ann" on the front and dark blue shorts.

However, he was found sometime before Saturday morning.

Police say he was also riding a blue-green mountain bike.

Anyone with information is asked to call State Police in Uniontown at 724-439-7111.
