Man Found Shot To Death Inside Car In Lincoln-Lemington-Belmar

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- A homicide investigation is underway after a man was found dead inside a vehicle in the city's Lincoln-Lemington-Belmar neighborhood.

As of Tuesday afternoon, police had released very few details, but it is known a man was shot multiple times. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

This morning, detectives were back out in the area where shots were fired overnight. It happened near the Woodside Village Townhomes, a private property in Lincoln-Lemington-Belmar.

According to a spokesman for the Pittsburgh Police Department, it happened on Schwerner Court.

Officers first learned about the shooting around 1:30 a.m. When they made it to the scene, the man was already dead inside the Honda Accord.

KDKA was there when the vehicle was getting towed. There was damage done to the driver's side and windows were shattered by bullets.

The spokesman says the Mobile Crime Unit processed the scene and evidence, and Violent Crime Unit detectives are investigating.

At this time, police have not released any information on a suspect and no one has been arrested. The identity of the victim has not been released.
