Police Investigating Shooting Outside Convenience Store

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Police are investigating a shooting that occurred outside a convenience store on Brownsville Road late Thursday night.

Officers responded to a report of shots fired outside the Uni-Mart at 1921 Brownsville Road around 11:15 p.m. Thursday. Police say when they arrived, there were no suspects or victims, but they found evidence that led them to believe there had been two suspects shooting at each other in the parking lot.

Later, police say a 24-year-old man took himself to UPMC Mercy with a gunshot injury to his leg, and they believe he is one of the suspects.

Police say the other suspect is a white man, who was last seen wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans and black shoes. They believe he fled the scene on foot towards Westmont Street.

The shooting occurred while customers were coming in and out of the convenience store, but no other injures were reported. An unoccupied parked car did have its rear window shot out.

The investigation is ongoing.
