Woman Flown To Hospital After Clairton Shooting

CLAIRTON (KDKA) --- A white Chevy Impala was riddled with bullets after a shooting in Clairton just before 1 a.m. Thursday.
Multiple bullet holes were visible in the back and front windshield and trunk area. A 23-year-old woman was shot in the shoulder.
Clairton police and paramedics responded to the 900 block of North State Street near the intersection of New Jersey Avenue. Allegheny County Police homicide detectives also responded to the call.
Police said the woman was driving in the 200 block of North Third Street when she was shot. A male passenger was with her but he was not hurt. The woman was flown to a local hospital. Police said she is in stable condition.
After the shots were fired, witnesses reported seeing two cars take off. One was a newer model silver Chrysler minivan. The second car was an older model dark color Chevrolet Monte Carlo.
Neighbors didn't want to talk to KDKA on camera but said it is odd to have a shooting in this part of town.
