Police Investigating Shooting In Allentown

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- At least one person was rushed to the hospital after a shooting late Monday night in the city's Allentown section.

According to police, the shooting happened in the 700 block of East Warrington Avenue around 10:46 p.m.

When officers arrived, they found a 22-year-old male suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was taken to UPMC Mercy Hospital, where he was last listed in critical condition.

Police believe the man was standing on the sidewalk when a silver vehicle drove by and opened fire.

Officers also responded to a crash nearby. There, a car had crashed into two parked vehicles.

The occupied vehicle was struck by an unknown number of bullets before the crash. Police believe the crash occurred as the occupants were trying to flee the shooting scene as the shots rang out.

A male in the vehicle was treated at a local hospital for injuries sustained in the crash. A female in the vehicle was not injured.
