Police Investigating Hill District Shooting

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Police are investigating a shooting that happened in the Hill District early Friday evening.

Officers responded to the 600 block of Duff Street around 4:17 p.m. On the scene, police say paramedics found a 36-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the shoulder. He was sent to UPMC Mercy in stable condition.

Police say a black male wearing all black clothing was seen running from the scene. They also found several shell casings.

Around 4:30 p.m., a man with a gunshot wound to the foot walked into UPMC Mercy. He claimed he was shot when he passed a group of people arguing on the street. Police could not confirm his story, and they believe the two incidents could be related.

The investigation is ongoing.
