Police Investigating Fatal Carrick Stabbing

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – Police are investigating a fatal stabbing that occurred outside a Carrick pizza shop early Saturday morning.

Around 2:15 a.m., police responded to a report that a woman was bleeding on the sidewalk in front of Anthony's Pizza on Brownsville Road in Carrick. She was sent to UPMC Mercy, where she was later pronounced dead.

The Allegheny County medical examiner's office identified her as 28-year-old Margaret Recasens from Monessen, Westmoreland County.

Police say the woman was stabbed, and a man wearing dark clothing was seen walking away from the area.

The investigation is ongoing.
