Police Investigating Fatal Beltzhoover Shooting

BELTZHOOVER (KDKA) – Police are investigating after one person was shot and killed in Beltzhoover Saturday night.

According to police, the shooting happened in the 100-block of West Warrington Avenue around 9 p.m.

A man was shot while behind the wheel of a Mercedes station wagon. After he was shot, the vehicle crashed into a fence and telephone pole.

"When police arrived on the scene, we did indeed find a man who had been shot in his face. His car was crashed and had been shot up a bit. Several casings were found on the street. Unfortunately, our victim died at UPMC Mercy," Pittsburgh Police Spokeswoman Sonya Toler said.

The victim is believed to be about 40-years-old and his name has not been released.

No arrests have been made at this time.
