Teenager Killed In Late-Night Brookline Shooting

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- A 15-year-old is dead following a shooting in Pittsburgh's Brookline neighborhood.

According to police, officers responded to reports of shots fired around 11 p.m. along Creedmoor Avenue.

When they arrived at the scene, they found the victim on the sidewalk who was not breathing.

He was taken to the hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

The Allegheny County Medical Examiner's Office identified the victim as 15-year-old Christian Redinger.

A spokeswoman with Pittsburgh Public Schools confirms Redinger was a student.

In a statement, they say, "We are deeply saddened to learn that Christian Redinger was the victim of a shooting last night. The ninth-grader most recently attended Pittsburgh Student Achievement Center. Our thoughts are with his family during this difficult time."

Police say there have been no arrests made and an investigation is underway.
