Police Investigating Central Northside Bank Robbery

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Police are investigating a bank robbery in Central Northside that occurred Thursday afternoon.

Police say around 2:40 p.m., the suspect entered the First National Bank on E. North Avenue. He handed the teller a note saying he had a gun and demanding money. He escaped with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The gun was never seen, and no one was injured.

The suspect is described as a black man, possibly in his 30s, and approximately 6 feet tall. At the time of the robbery, he was wearing a black hooded jacket, a black tassel hat and blue jeans. He was holding a cellphone to his ear during the robbery. Police say he may have gotten away in a four-door black or blue sedan.

The investigation is ongoing.
