Police Investigating Carrick Home Invasion

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Police are investigating a reported home invasion that occurred Thursday morning in Carrick.

Police say around 4:45 a.m., officers went to an apartment in the 600-block of Overbook Boulevard after a home invasion and burglary/robbery was reported.

The victim told police he was sleeping when someone broke into his apartment and ordered him to open his safe at gunpoint. When the victim refused, he says the suspect pistol-whipped him and fired a shot into his TV and another into his wall. The victim then opened his safe, and the suspect escaped with cash and another gun.

The incident is under investigation.
