Police Investigate Shooting Incident In Monroeville

MONROEVILLE (KDKA) - Police are investigating after a man showed up at UPMC East hospital in Monroeville with gunshot wounds Friday afternoon.

Monroeville Police say the shooting happened near the Firestone tire business behind the Monroeville Mall.

The victim was shot multiple times and drove himself to the hospital.

Investigators spent much of the late afternoon and evening hours processing the scene. Police cordoned off a section of the mall parking lot near Macy's as they gathered evidence and shell casings.

Police say shots hit the nearby Goodyear tire business.

A mall spokesperson says the facility was never put on lockdown and no gates were lowered.

The victim's name and condition have not been released, but officials say his injuries are not life threatening.

The Monroeville Police chief says two people are in custody.
