Police Investigate After Body Found Near Stowe Twp. Train Tracks

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – Investigators say a man weighing more than 300 pounds was murdered.

His body was found near train tracks in Stowe Township.

Officials say 32-year-old Nathaniel Humphrey was shot in the head.

A train engineer may have been the one who spotted the body in a wooded area, but it is in a very remote area.

In fact, detectives had to use the fire department's four wheelers to get to the scene.

"It's scary, it really hits close to home," said Melissa Rippole of Stowe Township. "Usually you only see the younger guys go down there to fish. Just to hang out and go fishing."

Neighbors say people are known to go scrapping in the area that Humphrey's body was found.

No word on a suspect.
