Police Encounter Hostile Crowd At Scene Of Double Shooting

HARRISBURG, Pa. (AP) - A man and a woman are in critical condition after being shot in what Harrisburg police say was an early morning incident that required officers from other jurisdictions to help control a confrontational crowd outside a bar.

Harrisburg police had not made any arrests Saturday morning. A 25-year-old man and a 30-year-old woman were found lying on the ground with gunshot wounds outside the City Line Bar & Lounge just after 2 a.m.

Police say officers responding to the scene encountered a crowd of more than 200 people that were confrontational with police. Officers from nearby jurisdictions, including the Pennsylvania State Police, were called to help.

Police found several vehicles parked on the block also had been struck by gunfire.
