City Police Double Up Patrols Following Threat

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – Pittsburgh Police are on alert Sunday night after receiving a threat.

Police spokeswoman Sonya Toler says the threat follows the killings of police officers in New York City.

"Our officers are being doubled up for precautionary officer safety measures," said Toler. "It is not uncommon for us to take this course of action when information is received regarding potential threats against police officers."

The FBI in Pittsburgh released a report to raise law enforcement awareness.

The threats were to kill law enforcement officials and Caucasian civilians. The location of these threats was not specified, but the source appears to have direct access to violent criminal enterprises in the Pittsburgh area.
