Police: Boy Brandished 'Fully-Loaded, Semi-Automatic' Gun At Fellow Leechburg H.S. Student
LEECHBURG (KDKA) -- Police in Armstrong County have charged a teenager with brandishing a "fully-loaded, chambered and ready to fire" semi-automatic weapon at another Leechburg High School student.
According to Leechburg Police, an officer was called to the high school around 2 p.m. Thursday over reports of a student who was armed.
Police say they found the 13-year-old boy in the principal's office when they arrived.
Investigators say the officer performed a safety pat down of the student and found him to be in possession of a "fully-loaded Rocky Island Armory, semi-automatic, .45-caliber handgun."
According to police, the gun had been stolen within Leechburg Borough.

The boy was taken into police custody.
He is now facing a number of charges, including possessing instruments of crime, possession of a weapon on school property, firearm not to be carried without a license, possession of a firearm by a minor, criminal trespass, receiving stolen property, as well as burglary and theft counts.
The superintendent of the Leechburg School District says no shots were fired and other students weren't in danger.
A message from the district to parents reads in part:
"The threat was confirmed and handled without incident. Leechburg Police were contacted immediately and assumed control of the individual, weapon and matter."
