Police: Boy, 8, Dies In ATV Crash Behind Penn Hills Home

PENN HILLS (AP) - Police say an 8-year-old has died in an all-terrain vehicle accident on a private track behind his western Pennsylvania home.

The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports Allegheny County Medical Examiner's Office says Cody Trim was found underneath an overturned ATV behind his Penn Hills home around 10 a.m. Tuesday.

Penn Hills Police Chief Howard Burton says the boy's grandmother went out to check on him when she stopped hearing sound coming from the ATV and called police when she found the boy under the four-wheeler.

He was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Burton says it's unclear what made the ATV roll over but the incident doesn't appear suspicious.

An autopsy was scheduled for Wednesday.
