Police: Beer Distributor Burglar Broke Skylight, Jumped 2-Stories To Get Inside

HEMPFIELD TOWNSHIP (KDKA) -- State police in Westmoreland County are looking for the person who burglarized a beer distributor by breaking the business' skylight and jumping down two-stories to get inside.

It happened at Jablonsky's Distributing on Zeller Street in Greensburg.

According to police, the suspect broke the skylight window and jumped onto a forklift below.

"We discovered the skylight was broke and there was glass all over the floor," said Tim Jablonsky, who owns the business. "It was probably 8:30 in the morning."

The fall was about two stories.

"The forklift was parked right here, just beyond the skylight," said Jablonsky. "We think he fell down, hit the gas tank, on his way through he cut his hands and left his bloody glove sitting back here."

Police say the person then took lottery tickets, cigarettes, about $500, and also caused damage inside.

The suspect then fled from the store.

The investigation continues.
