Police Arrest Victim's Roommate In Elliott Man's Suspicious Death

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Pittsburgh Police say they have made an arrest in a suspicious death investigation in Elliott.

According to police, 28-year-old Robert Hunter, the victim's roommate, was taken into custody Wednesday in connection with the case.

On Tuesday, the Allegheny County Medical Examiner ruled the death of 35-year old Mark Lopata a homicide. He was found dead in his Harker Street home last Friday.

Police say Lopata had been shot.

Investigators say they found Lopata's decomposing body on May 27 after his landlord repeatedly tried to contact him to collect rent.

A neighbor got into the house through a window and found the victim's body.
