Police Arrest Suspect In 2013 Canonsburg Fatal Home Invasion

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) - Police have made an arrest in the murder of a local father who was shot in front of his two children during a home invasion and robbery in 2013.

Thomas Cassano, 39, of Coraopolis, was fatally shot on Nov. 1, 2013 in his home on Fifth Avenue in Coraopolis.

At the time, police said Cassano and his daughters were asleep when several people entered the home. His 6-year-old daughter may have been thrown by one of the suspects.

On Friday afternoon, Allegheny County Police say 21-year-old Tanika Paul was arrested by Wilkinsburg Police in connection with the incident. She was taken into custody during a traffic stop.

She is facing charges of criminal homicide, robbery, simple assault and two counts of criminal conspiracy.

Another suspect, Bradley Kemp, was arrested last October.
