Police Arrest 3 After Finding Guns, Heroin In Home With 5-Month-Old Child

OBSERVATORY HILL (KDKA) -- Police arrested three people from a home in Observatory Hill Thursday after searching the house and recovering heroin and multiple guns.

Police arrested 33-year-old Galen Harris, 52-year-old Patti Hunt and 35-year-old Louis Hunt on multiple drug-related charges, as well as charges of receiving stolen property and child endangerment.

According to the Pittsburgh Department of Public Safety, an investigation began after residents made multiple complaints about drug transactions taking place around Dornestic and Vinceton streets in Observatory Hill. After conducting surveillance, police obtained a search warrant and recovered trash from a home in the 400-block of Dornestic Street. In the trash, they found items used for packaging narcotics.

Police obtained another search warrant and searched the house later that day. They say they found Harris on the couch in the living room with a gun on the couch cushion. A 5-month-old girl was also in the living room. Patti Hunt was discovered in an upstairs bedroom, and Louis Hunt was discovered in the basement.

After searching the house, police say they recovered four guns, a plastic bag with six Xanax pills, 11 bricks of heroin, several bundles of heroin stamp bags and a bundle of heroin that had been hidden inside a container of baby food that still had baby food in it.
