Pittsburgh Weather: Sunny Skies, Seasonable Temps Ahead
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Skies are clear, the sun is shining (and helping to melt some of the snow and ice) and we're in for a fairly seasonable week of temperatures (no single digits in the near future).
Warm air is moving in from the south pushing our temperatures into the lower 40s Monday afternoon with even a few mid 40s possible south of Interstate 70.
Clouds will return later Monday afternoon and evening as a weak system drops down off the Great Lakes, bringing a chance for some flurries.
Lake Erie is now frozen, so the lake effect snow machine is shut off for a while. Still, the I-80 corridor and the Laurel Highlands could see a few snow showers leaving a coating or so in some spots by Tuesday morning. The rest of the region will see just a few occasional flurries.
Temperatures cool down behind that front Tuesday but recover quickly back into the 40s Wednesday. Our normal high now is 38 and we'll be in that ballpark or above it most of the week.
Late week brings a couple of rounds of rain/snow showers Wednesday night through Friday with temperatures staying warm enough to alleviate any accumulating snow concerns for now.
