Pittsburgh Public Schools Investigating After Students Found With Toy Guns

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – Pittsburgh Public Schools Officials are investigating after one student shot another with a toy pellet gun on a school bus.

Officials say it happened Friday afternoon on a bus carrying students from Pittsburgh Liberty.

In a statement sent out to parents, district officials say a fourth grader hit another student's backpack and leg after discharging the gun.

The student was not reportedly injured.

The student suspected of shooting the gun claimed he got it from a fellow student, which prompted an investigation. After that, officials found that another student also had an airsoft pellet gun.

"The students in possession of the pellet guns, which is a violation of the District's Code of Student Conduct, face disciplinary action," the statement read.

District officials say school police are investigating.
