Police Investigating After Shooting Injures 2 In Carrick
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Pittsburgh Police are investigating after two people were shot in an SUV near a shopping plaza in Carrick.
Shots were fired around 11:30 p.m. Wednesday in the 1100 block of Brownsville Road, near the Shop 'n Save plaza.
According to a spokeswoman with the City of Pittsburgh Department of Public Safety, there were at least two bullet holes in the Nissan Pathfinder SUV that the victims were in. KDKA cameras captured the shattered windows of the SUV. Police searched inside the vehicle before it was towed away.
Police say the man had been shot in the shoulder, and the woman who was driving the SUV, 19-year-old Myneerah Dickey of Crafton Heights, had been shot in the ankle.
Paramedics took both victims to UPMC Mercy Hospital. They were last listed in stable condition.
Police say Dickey was arrested via summons, for possession of a small amount of marijuana, which was found in her purse.
This is the second shooting near the Shop 'n Save in Carrick in less than two weeks. On May 14, police found a man near the store, who had been shot several times. That shooting led to a SWAT situation, when police believed the shooter was in a nearby building on Brownsville Road.
A man, a woman and two children were evacuated from a nearby home. Police found two guns, but did not find a suspect.
There's no description of a suspect in the most recent shooting.
