PITTSBURGH (KDKA) — Pittsburgh Police continue to investigate a fatal shooting in the city's Larimer neighborhood. It claimed the life of a young adult male early Wednesday morning.

Detectives returned to the scene at 8:30 a.m. and began searching through the grass and nearby backyards for clues.

Officers initially responded to a call of shots fired on Lowell Street, between Shetland and Winslow streets, around 12:10 a.m.

A police spokeswoman said the officers found a deceased male lying on the ground between the two homes. She said initial reports indicate the victim was shot where his body was later discovered.

The victim has since been identified as Taeshaun Caldwell, 18, of Pittsburgh.

Neighbors tell KDKA News they did not hear any gunshots, but saw the flashing lights. The victim's name has not been released.

The Allegheny County Medical Examiner's Office was called to the scene to investigate.
