Pittsburgh Police Announce Death Of Retired K-9 Nix

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- The Pittsburgh Police K-9 Unit is mourning the loss of K-9 Nix.
"It is with a heavy heart that we report the passing of retired Pittsburgh Police K9 Nix," they announced Monday on Facebook.
Nix, who died on Dec. 15, served the city from May 2013 through the spring of 2018. Police say Nix spent the last several years in retirement with his handler, Pittsburgh Police Sergeant Bill Watts and his family.
