Pittsburgh Pirates Select LHP Anthony Solometo In Second Round Of 2021 MLB Draft

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Anthony Solometo has been picked with the 37th overall selection by Pittsburgh Pirates in the second round in the MLB Draft.
Solometo, 18, is a left-handed pitcher.
He was 5-0 with a 0.21 ERA in 32.2 innings at Bishop Eustace (NJ) Preparatory School.

The Pirates picked outfielder Lonnie White Jr. from Malvern Prep (PA) with the 64th selection, and right-handed pitcher Bubba Chandler from North Oconee (GA) with the 72nd pick.

In Rounds 4 and 5, the Pirates selected right-handed pitcher Owen Kellington from U-32 HS (VT) and third baseman Jackson Glenn from Dallas Baptist University.

The Pirates closed the draft day with shortstop Mike Jarvis from San Diego State (sixth round), catcher Wyatt Hendrie from San Diego State (seventh round), pitcher Sean Sullivan from California (eighth round), outfielder Luke Brown from Louisville (ninth round) and pitcher Justin Meis from Eastern Michigan (10th round).
