Pittsburgh Pirates Fan Takes Nachos To The Face In Pursuit Of Foul Ball

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- One Pittsburgh Pirates fan learned the hard way just how difficult catching a foul ball can be.

Not only did the fan's beer go flying, he also took a plate of nachos to the face.

Root Sports caught the action on camera and it's as messy as you think.

The incident happened during the Pittsburgh Pirates and San Diego Padres game at PNC Park.

The fan was going for a foul ball from Jung Ho Kang.

Pirates announcers Greg Brown and Bob Walk's commentary on the incident is even better.

According to the network, the man was fine.

The Pirates even gave him a free t-shirt to change into and commended him on his good effort. In a photo they posted to social media, the man poses with a baseball and a new plate of nachos.

In the aftermath, he joined "The Fan Morning Show" on Tuesday to talk about the ordeal.

"I had a beer and some nachos and was ready to take my seat. The next thing I know the ball was right above my head and I did whatever I could to try and bring it in," he said.
