Soldier's Best Friend: Military Members Adopt Dogs From Middle East

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Two U.S. soldiers are rescuing dogs from war zones in the Middle East and giving them a better life right here in Pennsylvania.

Amigo just retired as a military bomb detection dog, and Ghost is a stray dog that the soldiers befriended.

Guardians of Rescue raised $10,000 to get the dogs out of the Middle East and fly them to Pittsburgh.

The dogs were expected to arrive Wednesday.

They will live with the soldiers' families until the soldiers return home.
