City Of Pittsburgh Joins Philadelphia In Lawsuit Over State Gun Control Law

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- The city of Pittsburgh is supporting Philadelphia in a lawsuit against the state over gun laws.

The suit challenges a law that blocks cities from enacting their own gun restrictions. They argue the state's law disproportionately affects people of color.

In April 2019, Pittsburgh Mayor Bill Peduto signed a package of gun control laws, including a ban on AR-15s. A court struck down the ban later that year, ruling only the state can change gun laws.
