Greater Pittsburgh Food Bank Hosts Food Share Event In Kennywood Parking Lot

WEST MIFFLIN (KDKA) - Kennywood might not be open right now, but people are still showing up to help out the needy during the Coronavirus pandemic.

Hundreds of cars lined up Monday as the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank hosted the event.

Around 800 cars were there this morning, receiving a box filled with dry and frozen foods.

The food bank says it can serve 20 cars at a time, thanks to all of the volunteers.

"It's in response to the health crisis that is being experienced all over the world, so we're here to meet the community need as best we can, and we want to make sure we're serving as many people as we can," Charlese McKinney, of the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank, said.
