Authorities Probe 2 Shooting Deaths In Pittsburgh

PITTSBURGH (AP) - Authorities in western Pennsylvania are investigating a pair of overnight shootings in Pittsburgh that claimed the lives of two men.

Police said a man was driven to UPMC's Magee Women's Hospital with a gunshot wound to his chest at about 11:30 p.m. Saturday and was pronounced dead minutes later. Police said the vehicle he was driven in had a bullet hole in the right passenger seat.

Shortly before 1:30 a.m. Sunday, police said three men tried to force their way into a home in the Perry South neighborhood, and a male occupant came outside with a gun. Shots were fired and three cars were struck as was the male resident, who was later pronounced dead at a local hospital.
