Pitt To Play Northwestern In Pinstripe Bowl

PITTSBURGH (KDKA/AP) -- The Panthers are headed to New York City!

It was announced Saturday that Pitt will face off with Northwestern at Yankee Stadium in the 2016 New Era Pinstripe Bowl.

The game will take place Dec. 28 at 2 p.m.

It's the ninth consecutive bowl trip for the Panthers, who have one of college football's top feel-good stories this season in James Conner - the running back who beat cancer and rushed for 1,060 yards this season.

Northwestern (6-6) is in a bowl game for the second straight year, and is looking for its first postseason win since 2012.
