Pitt Offensive Coordinator Departs To Take Same Position In Georgia

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Surprising news coming out of the University of Pittsburgh football program Saturday as offensive coordinator Jim Chaney has left.

It was announced Saturday that Chaney is leaving Pitt to take the same position with Kirby Smart and the University of Georgia.

Head coach Pat Narduzzi released a statement saying, "On behalf of our entire program, I would like to thank Jim for his contributions to Pitt. His work was very important as we established our program in this first year. In addition to being an excellent football coach, he is a tremendous person and we wish him and his family the very best."

Chaney was in his first season with Pitt, but at the end of the year, there were some signs of tension between Narduzzi and Chaney.

Pitt will start a national search starting Saturday to find a new person to lead their offense.
