Pitt Head Coach Paul Chryst: "We Have Momentum, But Still Have Work To Do"

PITTSBURGH (93-7 The Fan)- Pitt Head Coach Paul Chryst became the first ever guest on the NEW Cook and Poni Show (Middays 10a-2p) on Sportsradio 93.7 The Fan.

He joined the guys to discuss the first season for the Panthers in the ACC as their very first opponent Florida St. is getting ready to play Auburn tonight in the final BCS Championship. Chryst will be working for ESPN TV tonight for the game.

He says both teams got to this game in very different ways but are both deserving. He is very much looking forward to watching it.

As for his Panthers, Chryst was very pleased with how the first year in the ACC played out and getting a win over Bowling Green in the Little Cesars Bowl.

"There is good momentum, we are on our way to something special," Chryst said. "But there is still work to do."

Chryst said he was happy to get the extra work in prep of the bowl game and he liked that so many freshmen stepped up in the win. It was great experience for the team moving forward.

He says the team made progress this past season and the kids are already turing the page to 2014 as they have already begun lifting and off season work for next year.

"We are going to be a different team, " Chryst said. "We have to replace the best defensive player in the country."
