AD Pederson On Pitt Script: 'That's Going To Be The Mark On The Helmets For Football For The Future'

PITTSBURGH (93-7 The FAN) - Pitt's game against Georgia Tech is special because it's Homecoming, but this game will likely be remembered for another reason.

Fans have been clamoring for the Pitt Script logo to return for years, and Saturday's game against Georgia Tech will be the game where those dreams finally become a reality.

The Pitt Athletic Department announced on Friday that the script logo will appear on the teams helmet for their ACC matchup with Georgia Tech and will remain the logo on their helmets for the rest of the season.

The team last wore the Pitt script logo from the early-1970s until 1997.

Pitt Athletic Director Steve Pederson joined the Starkey and Mueller show to talk about how this decision was made and how long they'll continue the using this logo.

"That's going to be the mark on the helmets for football for the future," Pederson told us.

You can hear more from Pederson on the use of the script logo as well as expectations moving forward for the football and basketball programs.
