Pitt Doesn't Make Cut In Bracketologist's Early Projections

PITTSBURGH (93-7 The FAN) - ESPN bracketologist Joe Lunardi revealed his preseason NCAA Tournament Projections Wednesday, causing reason for concern around the Pitt community.

The Panthers were left out of Lunardi's field of 68. They did not appear in his first eight teams left out, either.

Lunardi has nine ACC teams making the tournament. They are: North Carolina (1), Virginia (2), Duke (2), Notre Dame (5), Louisville (5), North Carolina State (7), Miami (7), Florida State (9) and Syracuse (11).

Under newly-extended head coach Andy Toole, however, Lunardi pegs Robert Morris in as a 16 seed. He has the Colonials in the play-in game, and, dependent on a win, matched up against No. 1 seed Kentucky in the second round.
